Job Description:

The role of Senior Systems Engineer is focused on managing & maintaining the infrastructure that supports the organization's cloud-based systems, primarily using AWS. The job involves configuring & troubleshooting Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange, Teams, & SharePoint, as well as managing Active Directory & its synchronization with Azure AD. Compliance is a key aspect, with responsibilities including the implementation of security technologies & ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The position also involves setting up & maintaining secure VPN connections, monitoring network & infrastructure performance, & addressing any issues that arise. Additionally, the role includes administering SAS Systems, managing Debian Linux servers, & ensuring all systems are properly configured & documented. Collaboration with various teams, particularly data scientists & engineers, is crucial to support the infrastructure behind data products & meet stakeholder requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement & maintain highly available & scalable cloud-based infrastructure solutions in AWS
  • Manage Microsoft 365 tenant configurations, including Exchange, Teams, SharePoint & OneDrive
  • Maintain & troubleshoot Microsoft Active Directory environments, including AD synchronization with Azure AD
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulatory standards & audit requirements using MS Compliance Center & DLP technologies
  • Implement & maintain secure remote access VPN solutions using SonicWall firewalls
  • Monitor & troubleshoot network & infrastructure issues using industry-standard monitoring & logging tools
  • Administer SAS System deployments & configurations, including user & access management, data management, & application configuration
  • Manage & troubleshoot Debian Linux servers, including user & access management, package management, & system administration tasks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects to successful completion
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud, networking, SAS, Debian Linux, & security technologies & trends
  • Collaborate with data scientists & data engineers to build & maintain the infrastructure that powers our data products
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their requirements & translate them into technical specifications & designs
  • Create & maintain documentation as it relates to system configuration, mapping, processes, & service records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing, & maintaining AWS-based infrastructure solutions
  • Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration & troubleshooting
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, including AD synchronization with Azure AD
  • Experience with MS Compliance Center & DLP technologies
  • Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including VPN & SonicWall firewalls
  • Experience with SAS System Administration, including deployment & configuration of SAS solutions
  • Experience managing & troubleshooting Debian Linux servers, including user & access management, package management, & system administration tasks
  • Excellent troubleshooting & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment & collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication & documentation skills
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, SAS Certified Platform Administrator, SonicWall Network Security Administrator, & Linux Professional Institute Certification are a plus.
