Job Description:

As the Director of Data Engineering at AnalyticsIQ, you will lead the strategic direction & execution of our data engineering initiatives. You will oversee the development and implementation of scalable data architectures & ensure data quality, security, & compliance. Your role involves mentoring & leading a high-performing data engineering team, collaborating with stakeholders to align data strategies with business objectives, and driving innovation in data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop & implement the data engineering strategy, aligning initiatives with organizational goals.
  • Lead & mentor the data engineering team to foster innovation, collaboration, & continuous improvement.
  • Manage recruitment, development, & retention strategies for the department.
  • Design, develop, & optimize robust, scalable data architectures in a cloud environment.
  • Architect data models to support efficient storage & retrieval.
  • Define best practices for coding standards, code reviews, & documentation.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, security, & compliance with regulations.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on data strategies that drive business objectives.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, & delivery of data projects.
  • Stay up to date on the latest big data trends and technologies. Evaluate new tools and solutions to optimize our data infrastructure.
  • Establish & enforce data governance policies for integrity & availability.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on big data architecture.
  • Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes and data warehousing concepts. Proven experience in designing and implementing big data processing pipelines.
  • In-depth knowledge of big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and related ecosystems (e.g., HDFS, YARN), Nifi, Airflow, etc. Intensive experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and related data services.
  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and related practices in data product.
  • Strong leadership, communication, & interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience with machine learning, SAS, digital advertising, or data-as-a-service models is a bonus.
